coffee: Toddy making home school

J

Toddy making is not hard... It's's the filtering that's the tedious chore.

1 pound of coarse ground coffee makes 8 quarts of toddy.

Coarsely ground coffee.
In my small grinder I pulsed 7 seconds - lots of batches.

1 lb coffee equals 2 quarts ground.

Add water making sure all the grounds are wet. Fill to 8 quarts and let stand for 12-18 hours.

Batch 1:
10 oz Guatemalan
6 oz Bolivian

Batch 2:
5 oz Bolivian
11 oz espresso

Will do a taste test when completed and see how they turn out...

Will add the photos of filtering once brewing is completed.

Ok!  Filtered and in fridge...
We did a taste test at hour 18 brewing but thought it needed longer so we let it ride another 3-4 hours.

Here's my simple way to filter - I use my automatic coffee maker and pour the toddy into the filter basket and collect it on the glass coffeepot below. Rinse and repeat till the 16 quarts are filtered.

Photo to come....
