i have been striving to make the perfect hard boiled egg and this method that my lovely friend Nils taught me works every time.
6 eggs
water to fill a pot
pot to cook in
timer
here's the method.
place eggs in a pot and fill with water to just cover the eggs.
place the pot on the stove on a high heat and bring the water up to boil.
once the water is boiling turn the heat to low ( if using a gas stove and if an electric stove take the pot off the heat) and cover with a lid.
now it's time for the timer - set it to 12 minutes.
once the timer goes off rinse the eggs in cold water to reduce their heat.
at this point they are ready to eat or refrigerate for later use.
the yolk should turn out bright yellow and creamy.
no more green rings!
