Oil lamp in citrus fruit - oh my Clementine

1 Clementine
Olive oil to fill
Match or Lighter

Mission:
1. remove the skin from the fruit.
2. use the string fibers that runs thru the central column as the wick.
3. fill the bottom half with olive oil and place vented lid on top.

Direction:
Take a sharp or serrated knife and slice around the waist of the fruit.

Working carefully use your fingers to separate the skin from the fruit.
Remove the half that the stem had been attached to because the opposite side will have the stringy fiber attached to the skin.

Once you have the bottom skin off it's time to remove the fruit.
Carefully start taking a slice at a time to expose the central column to get to the stringy fibers - once you can see the fibers carefully pull them away from the fruit while keeping them attached to the skin.

Now you have the body of the oil lamp!

The amount of oil to fill the lamp with depends on the size of the "wick" - fill almost to the top of the wick.

Make sure that the oil is close to the wick - if the flame goes out it's most probably because the oil is not high enough.

Let the lamp stand for 10 minutes or so before lighting.

The lid.
Take the other half of the skin and  make a vent at the top of it with a sharp knife - it can be any shape you'd like.

Light the wick
Place the lid on top
Make sure the flame not going to burn the lid
Enjoy.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST? well I did the initial burn for 5 hours and I bet that I have another 5 hours to go (other then the lid getting crispy). See last photo below.

UPDATE: this is the candle 5 hours in and still going strong other then the lid.....

I could smell the Rind burning....
