laundry: cotton sheets 101 how to remove stains and brighten whites without bleach

1.  STAIN REMOVING

Begin with a large tub that will allow the water to be above the fabric
Add
- 3 cups HOT water.
- 1 cup distilled vinegar

Soak material for 20 minutes minimum.

In a separate bowl combine to make a paste (it will be thick)
 - 1/2 cup baking soda
- 1 tbsp salt salt
- 2 tbsp hydrogen peroxide

Pat the paste on the stain on the fabric and let sit for at least 20 minutes.
Pop in the washer and wash again / stains should be removed

TEST 1
- I spot-soaked the stained area and did not soak the entire sheet
- I left the paste on for 45 minutes and then washed on a rinse spin cycle
- removed 50% of the stain.

The stain was from leaving BLEACH on a large spot that had self-tanner (not mine) on it and I walked away from the sheet and the bleach dried on the fabric and stained it YELLOW! (at least the bleach removed the tanner orange).
I will redo this again on the fabric and see if I can get it to go away.
