Simple Chocolate Cake:
2 cups flour
3/4 cup (75 grams) unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
2 cups (400 grams) sugar
1/2 cup (120 ml) warm water or coffee
1 cup (240 ml) soda water
1/2 cup (120 ml) oil - used olive
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Preheat oven 350F
Combine sugar and eggs and whip together till ribbonlike.
Add oil and liquids to the eggs/ sugar and mix.
Combine dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl in thirds.
Do not over mix.
Bake 30 minutes or till a knife comes out clean - based on pan depth and size
Bundt pan - 50 minutes
