pineapple skin and core tea

 1 pineapple skin and core

10 cups water 

1- cup sweetner: honey, maple syrup, brown sugar etc


additional flavors 

1 inch ginger 

1/4 tsp dried turmeric or fresh 

1 stick cinnamon

2 springs herbs: rosemary, thyme, basil, mint 


bring the pot of pineapple skins & core in a boil then reduce to a simmer for one hour

if using the ginger and fresh turmeric add them to a pot and bring to a boil and simmer 15 minutes - this cooks the ginger.

take the ginger and the broth and place it into a blender and blend and then drain thru a sieve to remove the fibers. i then put the liquid back into the blender with the sweetener and blended to 

pour of the pineapple tea once it has cooled enough to be in a container (don't break your glass, I used a metal one)  and add the ginger and any other flavors. 

for the mint I put it in the blender again and blended it smooth. 

pour over ice
